A new resource to treat chronic pain is coming to Lake County.

Lake District Wellness Center Prevention and Lake Health Clinic are teaming up to offer free Chronic Pain Self-Management classes. This program, created by Stanford University, covers common myths about pain, discusses different types of pain, and teaches people ways they can manage the pain by changing their lifestyle.

Prevention coordinator Francie Winters and licensed practical nurse Janine Simms will lead the classes from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays from November 14 through December 19. You’ll learn small lifestyle changes that can make a big difference in how you feel, and loosen pain’s grip on your life.

For more information or to preregister for the classes, contact Janine at (541) 947-2114 ext. 411 or jsimms@lakehealthdistrict.org or Francie at (541) 947-2114 ext. 441 or fwinters@lakehealthdistrict.org.
