Time to take back those prescription drugs

What’s in your medicine cabinet?

If you have unused prescriptions, take advantage of Drug Take Back Day Saturday, April 28. From 10 to 2 p.m., Lakeview Police Department and Lake District Wellness Center-Prevention will be collecting prescription drugs at the police department, 245 North F St., Lakeview. In Christmas Valley, Prevention is partnering with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office to office drug disposal at the sheriff’s substation, 87127 Christmas Valley Road.

The event is part of the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Administration. According to the 2015 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 6.4 million Americans abused prescription drugs. One of the easiest places to access those drugs? In the medicine cabinet of a friend or relative.

Help care for your family members, friends, and neighbors by disposing of prescription drugs you no longer take. The process is anonymous, and you might just save a life.
